Headland Foods in Flintshire to close in April

Kerry Foods who own the ready meal factory in North Wales started a 90-day consultation with staff and unions in November to see if the business could be saved.

Frank Hayes, director of corporate affairs has told Heart that they had: "failed to find a viable plan and the site will start to scale down production in mid April with closure of the site by the end of April.

"We will make every effort to help employees effected by the decision.

"Prospective local employers have already site and potential job opportunities have been identified in adjacent businesses.

"We have also offered redeployment opportunities at Kerry Foods sites in Hyde near Manchester, Burton on Trent and there are some opportunites at the Headland Foods sister site in Grimsby."
