Family campaign for defibrillators in all public places

The family of Oliver King from Liverpool are heading to Westminster today to campaign for defibrillators to be put in all public buildings.

The Oliver King Foundation was set up after the death of 12 year old Oliver King who died during a swimming lesson due to Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome. 

Martin King, Olivers Dad is going to teach a group of MPs how to us a defibrillator. 

They have set up an e-peition calling on the government to introduce defibrillators in all public buildings. 

Liverpool councillor Jake Morrison says:

'We call for the Government to take action on Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS) SADS can go undetected and us something which can affect people aged between 12 and 35 years old. It can be detected by simply having an ECG test. 

'We call on the Government to introduce defibrillators to all public building by 2017.

'We also call on the Government to offers all people aged between 12 and 35 a simple ECG test, which could reduce the current death rate of 12 young people a week.'
