Man due in court after fatal stabbing in Bebbington.

A man from Birkenhead is due to appear in court charged with the murder of another man. The incident happened in Bebbington on Friday afternoon.

It's believed the altercation came after suspected road rage, it's thought the incident was filmed on mobile phones by children on their way home from school.

42 year old Mark Clarke was collecting his children from school when he was fatally stabbed. 

Merseyside Police said:

'We can confirm that one 42-year-old driver of a blue Mercedes estate car, died as a result of a stab wound to the chest following the incident in Bebington, Wirral.

'We were called to busy Teehey Lane near a parade of shops at around 3.10pm after reports of an "altercation and a stabbing".'

"A 42 year old man has been birkenhead has been arrested and charged with Mark Clarke's murder and will appear at Wirral Magistrates on Monday.'

"The investigation is at a very early stage.  It is not known whether the two men knew each other or were strangers.

"Officers are aware that there were a large number of people in the area at the time, some of whom will have witnessed this incident and even taken photographs or footage on their mobile phone.

"We would appeal to anyone who has any information about this incident to contact us."
