Appeal for missing Flintshire man

North Wales Police have renewed their appeal to find missing Michael Murphy who's from Mold. He was last seen two days ago leaving work on the Deeside Industrial estate.

Police have issued a description of the clothing he was wearing at the time he went missing. The 32 year old was wearing a dark grey flat cap, a long dark grey duffle coat, blue jeans and white Adidas trainers with three black stripes on the side.

Michael was last seen leaving his place of work on the Deeside Industrial Estate at approximately 06.00am on Wednesday, January 4. He is described as being white, 5ft 10' tall, of medium build with short fair hair which is balding.

His vehicle, a red coloured Volkswagen Polo registration number S412 RTG was recovered from the Westbound carriageway of the new bridge which leads from the Deeside Industrial Estate to Flint before the 32-year-old was reported missing. The vehicle was recovered at 2pm on Wednesday following a call from a member of the public.

Detective Inspector Alun Oldfield said:

"Michael has not been seen since he left work on Wednesday morning, neither has he made contact with his family or friends.

"I appeal to anyone who has seen Michael or who knows of his whereabouts to contact police immediately. I particularly urge anyone who left the Deeside Industrial Estate on Wednesday to think back and to contact us immediately if they recall seeing the red coloured car, if they recall seeing anyone leaving the car or walking near or on the bridge."

An extensive search is being conducted of the river embankments involving North Wales Police officers, the helicopter from the North West Air Operations Unit, the Coastguard, RNLI, the Search and Rescue Dogs Association (SARDA) and the regional Police Underwater Search Team.

Anyone with information or who may know of Michael's whereabouts is urged to contact North Wales Police on 101 (if in Wales) or 0300 3300 101.
