Cars showroom damaged in Chester fire

Police say a fire at a car showroom in Chester overnight was started on purpose.

A motorhome was set on fire outside Ben Whitehouse Cars and then the main showroom caught fire.

Police say there has been lots of damage to cars and the main building.

Four fire crews dealt with the blaze, using a hydraulic platform to fight the flames from the air.

A Police spokesman said:

"A motorhome parked outside the premises was destroyed, and a second fire that started in the showroom itself has caused extensive damage to vehicle stock.

"Police implemented road closures in the area for a short time."
