Murder investigation underway in Chester

Cheshire Police are investigating the death of a man in Chester over the weekend - two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Police were called to Edgars Field next to the Ship Inn at Handbridge at around 11.15pm on Sunday 20th when a mans body was found. 

The deceased is believed to be in his thirties and local to the Chester area. His next of kin has been informed but formal identification has not yet taken place. Access to the park is restricted whilst forensic examination of the scene is carried out. 

Police are actively pursuing a number of lines of enquiry in relation to the mans death and two local men aged 29 and 31 have been arrested on suspicion of murder. 

Police are keen to speak to anyone with relevant information regarding this investigation, or anyone who may have been in the vicinity of the Ship Inn and Edgars Field around the time of the incident which is believed to have taken place around 10.30pm on Sunday 20th May, to make contact with police.
