Staff "sprayed" during Mold robbery

Two workers at a jewellers in North Wales have been taken to hospital after something was sprayed into their faces during a robbery on Tuesday afternoon.

It happened in broad daylight as two men went into the Sheila Williams Jewellers in Mold at about 3.30pm.

Police say the two men got away with a number of items and the staff are not seriously hurt.

Detective Inspector Alun Oldfield, who is heading the investigation said:

"The robbery happened at a very busy time of the day when many parents would have been out picking up their children from school.

"There is a good chance that people may have seen the offenders in the vicinity of Wrexham Road or making their way from Sheila Williams Jewellers Shop towards the Co-Operative shop following the robbery."

He added: "The two offenders are described as being in their 20's; both had covered their faces during the raid, one with a red scarf.

"They were both also described as wearing dark coats with baseball caps and hoods. One was wearing grey tracksuit bottoms."
