Waitrose plans for Chester development

Waitrose has put plans of display for a new multi million pound development in Chester which would create up to 400 jobs for the city.

The £40 million pound development went on display last week and developers want to hear from local residents on their views on the plans.

Waitrose is planning to submit the planning application to Cheshire West and Chester in November.

The plans include:

* Waitrose supermarket

* 120 bed hotel

*Other local jobs and food/drink establishments

* 320 car park spaces

*A new access junction off Boughton for shoppers

* Better connection to Shropshire Union canal

* New pedestrian bridge over the canal to link in to the proposed Chester Business Quarter development, railway station and hotel.
