Worker dies at Airbus in Broughton

An investigation is underway after a worker at the Airbus Factory in North Wales died in an accident yesterday.

Airbus have told Heart that the incident happened in one of their garage maintenance facilities at their Broughton plant.

In a statement the company say "Sadly we can confirm that one of our employees has died following an accident in one of our garage maintenance facilities at the Broughton plant on Wednesday evening.  

"He was taken to hospital following the incident but was declared dead later that evening.  

"A full investigation is currently underway and we are giving our full support to the Health and Safety Executive and North Wales Police." 

Broughton site manager Paul McKinlay said: "Everyone at Broughton is deeply shocked and saddened by this tragic event. All our thoughts and sympathies are with his family and friends at this very difficult time."
