A man who attacked a female police officer in Sheffield with an axe has been jailed for 15 years
2 Rape In Sheffield In 2 Days
Detectives are investigating after 2 young women were attacked in the Arundel Gate area.
The first attack happened between 2am and 3am in the early hours of last Sunday morning when a 22-year-old was raped by a man in or around the Arundel Gate area.
The offender is described as being of mixed race, between 23 and 26-years-old, of medium build.
He was with another man, who was white, who did not assault her.
A second woman, aged 18, reported being raped in Arundel Street at around 2am in the early hours of Tuesday 13th October.
The attacker is described as being white, 6ft tall, of skinny build, with a deep voice and northern accent. He wore a black woolly hat, a navy top, jeans and trainers.
Since the incidents happened, officers have been carrying out extensive enquiries to find those responsible, including reviewing CCTV footage, carrying out enquiries at the scene, and speaking to potential witnesses.
Extra patrols are being carried out in the area as enquiries continue.
Specially-trained officers are in touch with both victims.
