Investigation Launched Into Rotherham Assault

Police in Rotherham have launched an investigation into a suspected racially aggravated assault of two people in the Dalton area yesterday evening.

At around 11.30pm last night it is reported that a 20-year-old man and 15-year-old boy were verbally abused and assaulted outside the Asda supermarket in Aldwarke Lane.

Both males suffered minor head injuries.

An investigation is underway and in its early stages, but officers are treating the incident as a hate crime.

There is an increased police presence in the area to provide reassurance and officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen what happened.
