Murder Investigation Launched in Huddersfield

A woman has been stabbed to death and four children, including a six month old baby girl have been injured in Huddersfield.

Officers were called to Reinwood Road at 9.32pm on Sunday after receiving calls about an ongoing domestic related incident at a house there.

A 37 year old woman was taken to hospital but sadly died.

A nine year old boy suffered a stab wound to his arm and was treated in hospital.

Another nine year old boy, an 11 year old boy and a six month old baby girl were treated for minor injuries.

A man, who also suffered serious injuries, was arrested at the house.

Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Ady Taylor said:

"A 39 year old man was detained at the scene and is being treated in hospital today for serious injuries. We are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and Neighbourhood Policing Team officers are patrolling the area, offering support and reassurance to local residents.”
