Murder Investigation Launched In Sheffield

Police have charged a man with murder after a 19 year old died in an alleged attack, in the Wadsley area on Saturday.

Emergency services were called at around 2.35am following reports an 18-year-old man had been assaulted in Wadsley Lane, near to the junction with Braemoor Road, Sheffield.

He was taken to hospital with serious injuries where he was pronounced dead.

The man has now been named as 19 year old Matthew Wilson, but his family has been informed and are receiving support from police. 

A post-mortem examination's concluded he died from multiple stab wounds. 

Lucas Bigley, 18, of Wadsley Lane, Sheffield, has been remanded in custody and will appear before Sheffield Magistrates’ Court today (Monday 30th).
