Police used mobile phone footage to prosecute a husband for sexually abusing his wife even though she refused to give evidence against him.
Two People Die After A House Fire In Barnsley
Two people have died in a house fire in Barnsley, emergency services said.
A man and a woman were pronounced dead after the blaze.
An investigation has been launched into the cause of the fire.
Emergency services were called to the property on Cherry Tree Street, Elsecar.
A South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "Two people have died following a serious house fire in Barnsley.
"Firefighters rescued an adult male and adult female from the fire on Cherry Tree Street, Elsecar.
"But despite the considerable efforts of firefighters and ambulance crews at the scene, both sadly passed away.''
South Yorkshire Police said the victims had not yet been formally identified and investigations were under way to establish if the fire was suspicious.
