Unprovoked Attack In Sheffield Bar

Detectives are investigating after a man needed an operation after being attacked at a bar in the city centre.

Officers were called to House of Hugo bar on Carver Street at around 2.30am on Easter Monday.

A 23-year-old man sustained multiple fractures to his left eye in what is believed to be an unprovoked attack.

He was taken to hospital where he has undergone surgery.

A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and bailed pending further enquiries.

DC Nick Parker investigating said:

"There were a number of people in the bar at the time and we urge anyone with information to get in touch."

Witnesses to the incident should call 101 quoting incident number 238 of 6 April 2015 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
