A paralysed mum-of-four from Devon, who has spent 21 months in hospital, has finally returned home.
Lucy Lowe, was injured in a freak accident and had to have her tail bone removed which left her paralysed and wheelchair bound for life.
The family learnt they were not eligible for any grants to finance the £30,000 renovations needed at their home in Ottery Saint Mary - and were forced to embark on a fundraising mission.
Almost two years down the line, Lucy is ‘over the moon’ to be able to put the ordeal behind her and begin again as a normal family.
Her breakthrough came via donations and a Go Fund Me fundraising page.
They managed to raise the money and start renovations including ramps, a downstairs wet-room and other adaptions to the garden and house.
After coming out of hospital, she says she is just looking forward to settling into her new ground-floor living space.
