Speeding Targeted in North Devon
17 February 2010, 06:00 | Updated: 18 February 2010, 11:08
New flashing road signs are being placed across North Devon to get us to slow down.
The signs can be moved to different locations - at the moment, there are 15 that have been identified by Devon County Council.
The interactive signs flash a message to slow down and display the speed limit to drivers who are speeding.
Steve Fletcher lives on Buckleigh Road in Westward Ho!, one of the places where the signs will be used. He said: "Hopefully this sign will make people realise that families do live around here with children, and it would only take one accident and possibly somebody being killed."
The signs will be placed at:
- A388 Stibbs Cross
- Saunton Road, Braunton
- B3237 Higher Clovelly
- A388 Clawton
- B3137 Alswear
- Goodleigh Road, Barnstaple
- Alverdiscott Road, Bideford
- B3236 Buckleigh Road
- B3233 Fremington
- Slade Road, Ilfracombe
- Westacott Road, Barnstaple
- Sticklepath near Okehampton
