Neighbourhood Watch

The biggest neighbourhood watch in the country needs more help.

The scheme in Keynsham now has more than 170 houses involved and is getting too big for one person to co-ordinate.

Bob Eastaugh who currently runs it says it's getting too much. But he's determined that it must continue. "I've got the neighbourhood together. They're now talking to each other, they're happy, they're going in each other's houses. This is an incredible thing because they're all in the neighbourhood watch and helping each other in the community."

Neighbourhood Watch is a voluntary scheme and the role involves visiting people's homes, delievering newsletters and responding to residents enquiries.

The Keynsham scheme has been highly praised by Avon and Somerset Police in the past for it's work in the town.
