Police have seized a cannabis bush from the home of an elderly couple from Bedford, who'd bought it at a car boot sale and didn't realise what it actually was.
The pair, from Bedford, had looked after the plant really well. Officers from Bedfordshire Police said the cannabis plant was the biggest they had ever seen.
The couple had innocently bought the shrub and planted it, unaware that what they were growing was illegal.
Bedfordshire Police were astonished when they spotted the enormous plant and spoke of their shock discovery on their Twitter account, saying: "Seized today. Elderly couple bought shrub at car boot sale, tended carefully - biggest cannabis plant we had seen.''
A spokesman for Bedfordshire Police told Heart the plant has been removed, and no further action will be taken against the couple.
