Bedfordshire Police have released an image of a man they want to speak to about a serious sexual assault upon a woman in her parked car in Park Avenue, Bedford near the junction with De Parys Avenue at 6.20pm on Friday 17 December 2010.

The image, taken from a convenience store CCTV camera in Stanley Street, shows a man who appears to carry a hi-visibility jacket passing the store. Police feel he could have vital information which would assist their investigation. Previously released CCTV showed a man exiting Lurke Street and walking down Bedford High Street towards De Parys Avenue also wearing a hi-vis jacket with grey stripes, dark trousers and a dark hooded top.

Detective Inspector Mark Tobutt said: “The victim of this attack walked up Bedford High Street and along De Parys Avenue before being attacked in her car in Park Avenue. The man who attacked her was wearing a hi-vis jacket and fled along Park Avenue past Robinson Pool, which is near Stanley Street. “The man in this image was in the area at the relevant time and in this picture appears to be carrying a yellow fluorescent jacket with grey stripes. We believe this man has vital information which could help our investigation and very much want to talk to him. “If he recognises himself and would like to be eliminated from our inquiries he should call us.
