Highly dangerous drugs have been stolen from an ambulance while the crew were out of the vehicle.

Bedfordshire Police have issued an appeal for information following the theft on Saturday night (February 12th).

Police say the ambulance driver and a colleague travelled from Bedford to Papworth Hospital in Cambridge on Saturday evening and were in the hospital around 8.30pm

They returned to Bedford later and it was only then that they realised a pack of drugs kept in the ambulance was missing.

It's not known if the drugs were taken while the ambulance was at Papworth Hospital or later when it had returned to Bedford.

Police say that drugs contained in the pack could be highly dangerous.
