Teen injured after glass attack

Detectives in Shefford are appealing for witnesses after a 19 year old man was attacked with a glass whilst out on Friday night (7th January).


The victim was in the garden of The Cornerstones Public House on the High Street at around 11pm when there was suddenly a lot of noise and he was approached by a woman. She smashed a glass over the victim’s head causing him to fall to the floor before leaving the area.

He suffered deep cuts to his head and right ear and was taken to hospital for treatment.

The woman is described as white with dark possibly curly hair. She was about 5’ 6” tall and of average build, she was wearing jeans.

Detective Constable Amanda Durrant, investigating said: “The victim has no idea why this woman hit him with the glass and he has suffered significant injuries from the assault. We know there were quite a few people in the area at the time who may have seen the incident or remember the woman and we would urge them to get in touch with us.”
