Bedfordshire Police have arrested and charged two teenagers aged 14 and 15 following a series of armed robberies over a 30 hour period on Friday 4 and Saturday 5 February 2011.

The charges related to a series of robberies involving two boys, the older boy of mixed race and the younger one white, that took place over the weekend in the Putnoe area of Bedford. The offenders were armed with bladed weapons.

They have been remanded in custody to appear in court at a date to be determined.

Police are asking anyone who may have seen anything suspicious or been the victim of a robbery in the area during the weekend to contact them.

Constable Guy Steel-Jessop, investigating, said, ā€œIā€™m appealing for anyone who saw anything suspicious to please give me a call. No one was hurt in these incidents but I believe there are further victims that have not come forward and I am urging them to speak to me. I would like to thank the victims and witnesses that have stepped forward and applaud their bravery after what can only have been a terrifying ordeal. Together we can stop this behaviour before someone is injured or worse.ā€
