One man is fighting for his life and another was seriously hurt after a car crashed into a bridge at Houghton Conquest in Bedfordshire on Saturday (August 20th).

They were passengers in a light blue Citroen Saxo that left Chapel End Road just outside the village at half past 12.

The driver was uninjured. One passenger was airlifted to a hospital in London, the other was taken to Bedford hospital.

Bedfordshire police say all three in the Saxo were young males. They are appealing for witnesses.

In particular the police want to speak to the occupants of a silver VW Golf that was in the area at the time.
