E-fit of Basingstoke Robber

Police have released an e-fit image of a man after an attempted robbery in Basingstoke during the early hours of Sunday February 7th.

At around 2.15am a 31-year-old man was walking towards a bridge that leads to Norn Hill Road. As he reached the bridge he saw two men who started to follow him.

The men continued to follow him and asked him how much money he had.

The man ignored them and walked into town and got into a taxi to take him home.

The men did not continue to follow him and nothing was stolen.

PC Daniel Walker, of the Basingstoke Safer Neighbourhoods Team, said: “We want to hear from anyone who recognises the man in the image or anyone with information about this incident.

“We would remind people to stick to well lit areas at night and report any suspicious people to police.”

Anyone with information about the incident should contact PC Walker at Basingstoke police station on 101 or call the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
