Missing Bracknell man

83 year old Leslie Frewen from Bracknell hasn't been seen since Sunday 15th August.

Officers are now searching the wider area of Warfield Park which contains hundreds of residential park homes, set in 88 acres of wooded parkland. to the missing 83-year-old.

Mr Frewen was last seen at his address in The Plateau, Warfield Park, Bracknell, at about 3pm on Sunday 15 August 2010, when he left to go for a walk.

"We miss and love him very much"

The family of 83-year-old Leslie Frewen have made a plea for help in locating their much-loved father and grandfather.

Leslie is married to Jean and has two daughters and four grandchildren aged between 12 and 18-years-old.

He was an Army cadet and then served with the Grenadier Guards from 1945 to 1948. Leslie returned to civilian life for eight years before rejoining the Army in 1956 as a member of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME).

In 1967 Leslie left the REME and joined the Post Office, where he worked until his retirement in 1988.

His family said:

"Jean, Leigh, Erika, their family and friends would like your help in trying to trace Leslie Edward Frewen, aged 83. He was last seen on Sunday 15 August at approximately 3.45pm in County Lane, Bracknell, heading towards Tesco. He was wearing a fawn zipper jacket, navy blue trousers and black lace-up shoes.

"If you have seen him, know of his whereabouts or have any information that may help us to locate him, we urge you please to contact the police.

"We miss him and love him very much. We are desperate to know that he is safe and we want him back home with us as soon as possible."

Mounted Police

Police have also told us they're growing increasingly concerned for his welfare.

Officers from Thames Valley Police’s Mounted Section have also joined in the search and areas already looked at will also be revisited.

Residents in Warfield Park are also being asked by police to check their sheds, garages, outhouses, and the areas beneath mobile homes.

Police now know that Mr Frewen was last sighted in The Elms – an area within Warfield Park - at around 3.15pm. It is also believed that he visited Tesco, Jigs Lane North, in Warfield during the morning of Sunday (15th August).

Ch Insp Simon Bowden, local police commander for Bracknell, said:

“A number of areas have now been searched by officers and these searches will continue throughout the course of today. A police officer has been appointed to liaise with the Frewen family, who are being regularly updated with regards to our inquiry.

“Mr Frewen has never gone missing before, so his disappearance is completely out of character. Although he suffers with diabetes, he is otherwise described as a healthy man who enjoys his daily walks.

“Posters containing Mr Frewen’s details and photograph have been distributed locally and officers are out in the community talking to people in a bid to try and locate him. Neighbouring police forces have also been informed as well as the national missing persons bureau.”
