The latest plans to redevlop Bristol's Old Vic have been made public.
The main work will focus on the main auditorium, The theatre royal, in paticular sorting out problems with the seating. Work will also be done on the backstage areas, including studio space and set construction areas.
Executive Director Emma Stenning said "The security of the Bristol Old Vic as a theatre company is no longer an issue - we are very much open for business and, under Tom Morris' artistic leadership, are putting on some of the most exciting new work in the country at the moment. This is the oldest working theatre in the UK, it was built in 1766 and it's one of the most beautiful as well I think. Of course our plan here is all about cherishing the atmosphere of this space, the history is extraordinary and we're going to respect that."
