A police investigation has started into the cause of a fire which destroyed part of an industrial unit in Bristol.
Police and the fire service were called to the fire on Netham Road shortly before 3am on Saturday.
The blaze has left the building at risk of collapse.
DI Simon Dewfall said: “A number of businesses operate out of the building and the impact this will have on them is not lost on us.
“Together with our fire service colleagues we’re working hard to understand what happened but unfortunately the building needs to be made safe before it can be forensically examined and searched, so this could take a while.
“A cordon will remain in place for at least the next few days while these actions and enquiries take place.
“We appreciate the disruption this may cause to business owners and I’m grateful for the understanding and patience they’ve shown so far.
“We’re keeping an open mind about the cause of the fire while we investigate and would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time fire started to contact us.”
If you have information which could help the inquiry please call 101 and provide the call handler with the reference 5218276952.
