My Child Is Autistic

A Bristol mum has written a book based on her experience of bringing up a child with autism.

Renitha Tutin says the advice from doctors was scary and complicated when her son Josh was diagnosed. She wrote 'my child is autistic' to try and explain to people what it's like and to help other mums who find themselves in the same situation.

She told Heart 'A lot of people don't really know what autism is. They tend to think of the film rain man and of people who are exceptionally good with numbers or at music. Whilst that is true in some cases, in most it cause problems in everyday life.'
