How to get to the Balloon Fiesta 2018

Transport around Ashton Court Estate during the Bristol Balloon Fiesta always gets busy but plan ahead to ensure you don't get caught out.

Organisers urge visitors to plan their journeys well ahead, particularly during very busy periods such as the Night Glow events on Thursday and Saturday evenings.

Travel to the Fiesta

The beautiful Ashton Court Estate is situated to the West of Bristol City Centre. It has ample parking for cars, can be reached on foot or bike from the city or via public transport including regular buses.

By Car

Follow the yellow road signs to the Fiesta - Public Car Parks are clearly signposted

From the North, M5 Junction 19: take the A369 towards Bristol city centre

From the South, M5 Junction 21: take the A370 towards Bristol

From the East or West, M4 Junction 20: take the M5 southbound, leaving at junction 19 for the A369 towards Bristol city centre

SAT NAV Details: If you use a SAT NAV use the postcode BS8 3TQ. Once you pick up the yellow event road signs, please follow these as they will direct you with the flow of event traffic.

Car Parks

Advanced car parking is available, this guarantees a space within a short distance of the showground and a dedicated entrance and exit to the Fiesta site. It is always recommended to book your car parking well in advance, for details click here.

Visitors who purchase car packing passes in advance can now also opt for premium car parking. For just £10 per car per day, premium car parking guarantees a space in the parking area closest to the showground, a dedicated entrance with easier access on and off site and a complimentary event programme. By Foot

The Fiesta site is a 20 minute walk from Bristol City Centre, Clifton and South Bristol. Please use the Festival Way if you are walking from central Bristol, which is sign posted from Queens Square.

The Clifton Suspension Bridge will be closed to all vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians during the evenings of the two nightglows, Thursday 7th and Saturday 9th August 2018. It will be closed from 6.00pm, re-opening at 2.00am the following morning.

By Bus

Two dedicated Bus Services will operate during the Fiesta weekend, connecting central Bristol, Clifton and Bristol Temple Meads with the Fiesta site.  Route and timetables will be released nearer to the event but for more information click here.

Drop Off/Pick Up Facility

A dedicated drop off/pick up facility will be loacted within a short walk from the Fiesta site.  Please follow the yellow event signs to the facility, if dropping off or collecting on the evenings of the two night glows it would be recommended to collect a short walk from the site to avoid getting caught up in the heavy traffic.

By Train

GWR run frequent, high-speed services to Bristol Temple Meads and Bristol Parkway from London Paddington. Services also run to Bristol from various locations around South Wales, Birmingham and the South West - as well as the rest of the UK.

On arriving at Bristol Temple Meads, visitors can make their onward journey to the Fiesta on the Official Fiesta Bus Service.

By Bike

Bicycles can follow the Festival Way, a traffic free route from the city centre, on arrival they can enter the estate from Gate 3 - Kennel Lodge Road. A bike park is located on site. Please note that bicycles are left at your own risk.
