A prolific burglar caught in a special police operation has been locked up for 39 months.

Sean Fowler, 19, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to burgle and conspiracy to convert criminal property relating to a variety of offences including six burglaries and several thefts including high powered motorbikes and bicycles.

Fowler also asked for a further nine burglaries involving property in excess of £19,000 and eight thefts of property worth more than £3,000 to be taken into consideration, along with seven cases of taking a vehicle without consent.

He was jailed for 39 months at Cambridge Crown Court yesterday (Wednesday 25th May).

Operation Northwood was a year-long police investigation into burglary and cycle theft in the city.

Detective Constable Ben Martin said: "Fowler was heavily involved in burglary and theft in Cambridge.

"We're pleased he has been brought to justice and that the sentence reflects the seriousness of his offences."
