Ely: Little Downham Creates Biggest Pack Of Crisps

13 September 2013, 15:54

A Cambridgeshire crisp-manufacturer has today smashed the current world record for the biggest packet of crisps in the world.

Corkers Crisps weren't happy that Japan had held the title at half-a-tonne - so they've created a massive pack - which holds 2,000,000 individual crisps inside.

The team, based at Willow Farm started work on making the one-tonne bag around 8 months ago and by last night - workers begun to fill it up with crisps (all one flavour, sea salt, in case you were wondering!).

The venture is supporting the Liam Fairhurst Foundation - and funds raised from the auction of the 28,000 bags inside - will be donated to the charity.

The documentation will now be sent off to the Guiness Book of World Records to verify the attempt.

On Saturday (Sep 14th), the public can see the giant pack and - be part of a fun-day which will also help the charity at Willow Farm, near Ely, 10am-5pm.
