A small group of Chinese detainees at the Oakington Immigration Reception Centre refused to eat lunch on Monday.
It's understood the protest was about a number of issues surrounding life at the centre.
A spokesperson for G4S, which runs the centre, said: "The Centre Manager at Oakington IRC met with a number of Chinese detainees on Monday 26 July after a small group of them refused their lunch.
A number of issues were raised including the length of their detention, the quality of the food and access to healthcare.
This was a calm and productive meeting and the Centre Manager has arranged a further meeting later this week.
Dinner was served as normal in the evening and all attended."
