Newmarket's Goldie Sayers is out of London 2012.

Goldie, Team GB's top female javelin thrower, has failed to qualify for the medal final.

The former Ely schoolgirl, who went into the Olympics recovering from a torn elbow ligament, was clearly in pain during each of her three qualifying throws at the Olympic Stadium.

She was shown a red flag by officials and as a result wasn't awarded a score, putting her out of London 2012.

Goldie was hoping to secure a medal at the games after finishing fourth at the Beijing games in 2008.

She is a nine time national javelin champion.
