Post Mortem Examination Due In Burwell Shooting

A post mortem examination's due to take place later after a 36-year-old man was killed in Burwell.

Police and paramedics were called to reports of a shooting in First Drove just after 2am on New Years Day. 

A 36-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. 

His family have been made notified but formal identification has not yet taken place.

Police are treating it as a firearms incident and have launched a murder investigation.

The post mortem will take place at Cambridge's Addenbrooke’s Hospital.
