An easyJet flight from Hamburg to Luton has been diverted to Stansted Airport due to a security alert.
The Airbus A319 aircraft, flight number EZY2324, landed at the Essex terminal at 17:30 as a precautionary measure.
Police met the aircraft when it landed, and officers are now on board.
An easyJet spokesperson said: "easyJet can confirm that flight EZY2324 flying from Hamburg to Luton Airport on 11 October 2013 has diverted to Stansted Airport as a precautionary measure due a security alert.
The aircraft landed safely at around 17:30 and on arrival was met by the police who are now onboard the aircraft.
The safety and security of our passengers and crew is easyJet’s top priority and the airline is cooperating fully with the authorities.
There are 151 passengers and six crew onboard the Airbus A319 aircraft.
We would like to thank passengers for their patience and apologise for any inconvenience caused.
easyJet will transfer passengers to Luton Airport as soon as we can."

The security alert has been established as a false alarm, due to an error on the passenger list.
