What are the rules on lending? For me, I lend it, you give it back ASAP.
Well Kev doesn’t seem to know the rules on lending as he borrowed a DVD in August 2010 and only just got round to returning it today – which to be honest was a shock as he did think he’d lost it in a house move.
And at least he played a fanfare upon handing it back.
We worked out that he had borrowed it for 889 days, so I rang the Cambridge library just to see what their late charges were like so I could apply them to Kev.
He was rather shocked to find that the first week overdue is £2.75 and 65p per day thereafter, which by my reckoning is £576.05 (I didn’t bother to tell Kev that the charges stop at £15!)
So, to work off that debt I have decided he can pay in cuppas, I'm thinking 25p per cuppa, I have 2 a day which means I don’t have to go to the kitchen for the next 3years!
