CCTV has been released by Police investigating an armed robbery at a Peterborough McDonald's back in March this year.

Detectives hope it'll generate new leads after a man with a shotgun threatened staff at the Boongate branch on Monday 17th March.

A man went into the takeaway at about 10.45am armed with a shotgun.

He went to a back office, threatened two female members of staff and demanded money.

The women did not have access to any money and the man left empty handed, running towards Padholme Road.

No one was injured but the two members of staff were shocked and shaken.

A shotgun and clothing believed to have been worn by the robber was recovered nearby.

DC Amanda Allen said: "I hope seeing these images may prompt someone to call in with the information I need to catch this man.

The two members of staff were very distressed by the ordeal. Fortunately, the staff could not access any money so he fled empty-handed.

I would urge anyone with information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to contact police."

Anyone with information is asked to contact DC Allen on 101, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
