Huge Search Underway For Boy In River In Huntingdon

Emergency services at the scene in Hartford in Huntingdon, as they search for a teenage boy, in the river.

Police say they were called at 3.40pm by a member of the public, saying a teenage boy was seen to go into the Great Ouse at Church Lane in Hartford in Huntingdon, got into trouble, and didn’t resurface.

Officers say they didn’t find the teenager during initial searches.

The underwater search teams have since taken over – but still haven’t found the teenager. However police did stress they are ‘confident’ the boy was in the water.

Initially around 20 police officers were on the scene.

The Ambulance service were called at 3.42pm, and tell Heart they’re still at the scene.

The Fire service say they’ve scaled their operation down from five fire engines to two.

It's thought emergency services will continue searching for the missing teenage boy this morning.
