Victim Named In Linton Fatal Crash

A man who died following a collision on the A1307 in Linton last week has been named as Mathew Smyth from Duxford.

The 25 year-old from from Parsonage Close, was riding a red Yamaha motorbike when it was involved in a collision in the early hours of Wednesday 29th August.

Mathew’s family have said:

“We, the family and friends are absolutely heart broken and distraught beyond belief at the loss of Mathew. We have lost the most amazing, cheeky, fun-loving young man anyone could ever wish to meet.

The impact this has and will forever have on our lives is indescribable, Mathew will now never get to meet his unborn child.”

23 year old Ricardas Taraska from Pinder Road in Norwich has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, failing to stop after a collision and failing to report a collision to police.

Mr Taraska has been remanded to appear at Cambridge Crown Court on Friday 28th September.
