The A14 northbound spur between the Spittals interchange and Alconbury is expected to remain closed until around 5:30pm, due to an overturned lorry.
A lorry carrying clothing crashed just before 10am this morning.
This led to the northbound A14 spur between junction 23 and the A1(M)/A14 being closed.
Emergency services are currently at the scene but there are no injuries.
Diversions are in place.
At around 11:30am, Cambridgeshire Police tweeted: "#A14#Huntingdon Vehicle crash. Spittals - Alconbury closed. Will be for another 6hrs. Diversions in place. Expect delays."
A Highways Agency spokesperson said: "Drivers are advised to avoid this section of the A14 if they wish to avoid congestion as the carriageway is likely to remain closed for several hours.
The motorway will fully reopen as soon as it is safe to do so.
Traffic is being diverted along the A14 towards junction 22, followed by the A1 northbound to re-join the A1(M).
The Highways Agency has set signs across the local, regional and national motorway network to advise drivers of the incident and delays."
