A prison officer who tried to smuggle £3,500 of cannabis, a knife and mobile phones into HMP Peterborough has been jailed.

Ibrahim Hussain, 20, tried to avoid a random search in October 2017 but officers found a large wrapped package in his uniform.

It contained 74g of cannabis, a twin blade lock knife and three mobile phones with charging leads, Cambridgeshire Police said.

Hussain, of Burmer Road, Peterborough, admitted three counts of conveying a prohibited item into a prison, the force said.

He was jailed for three years and four months at Peterborough Crown Court on Thursday.
