Police in the Fenland town of March are investigating a rape.

The victim, a woman in her 30s, was walking home from a friend's house at around 8.30pm Sunday (March 6). She walked through the Wigstones Road area, between Nene Parade and North Drive, known locally as the BMX Park, when she stopped and asked a man for directions. The man has then took hold of her and raped her.
A group of people walked past the area and the man ran off across the park. The victim alerted the group to what had happened and they called the police.
The offender is described as a white 18-year-old man wearing a black jacket.
Detective Sergeant Dave Savill said:

"We would like to reassure members of the public that incidents of this nature are particularly rare. We are working with the victim who is being supported by specially trained staff.
I am keen to hear from anybody who has information about this incident or the man responsible."
