Reward announced and CCTV image released in relation to violent robbery in Coton.
Police have released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to in relation to a burglary and subsequent robbery.
The image is taken from an address in Landbeach that was burgled on December 30, 2013.
It is believed the burglary is connected to a violent robbery at a home in Madingley Road, Coton.
The incident, which took place between about 10pm on Saturday, November 29, and 2.20am the following day, left the victims traumatised and in fear for their safety.
Four armed men smashed their way into the house of a couple in their 70s and used violence to demand cash and property.
The offenders wore 'boiler suits' (similar to those used for decorating or spraying cars) and had their faces and heads covered with only their eyes visible.
It was a sustained ordeal, during which both victims were bound with gaffer tape and assaulted: the female victim had her toe broken by one of the offenders hitting her on the foot with a hammer. The victims were then locked in a room, from which they eventually managed to escape.
There is now a £5,000 reward for information which identifies the offenders and leads to a successful prosecution and conviction.
Detective Inspector Alan Page from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit, said: "We believe the person in this image has information which will help our investigations into both incidents.
"The subsequent robbery was one of the most horrendous offences I have investigated in 20 years of policing.
"I believe there are people who can help bring the offenders to justice.
"I urge anyone with information to get in contact. People like this do not deserve your protection or loyalty."
Anyone with information should contact DI Page on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
