1. Welcome to my ultimate festive tunes playlist!
From Elton's 'Step Into Christmas' to the gorgeous Mariah's 'All I Want For Christmas Is You', these songs can't help but get me in a Christmassy mood. So pour yourself a glass of mulled wine and hit that play button. Merry Christmas! Picture: Instagram

2. Elton John: Step Into Christmas
This festive tune really gets me in the Christmas mood. Written by Elton John himself and Bernie Taupin the track was released as a single in 1973 and is very light hearted and tongue in cheek. The best thing about it? The hilarious round glasses Sir Elton's wears in the music video of course! Picture: PA

3. 9. Michael Bublé: Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)
The intro to this song has to be one of the best to any Christmas tune - It's got such a fantastic build up and I just love the big band feel of the song. I've seen video of Bublé performing this live and he puts on such an incredible show with his band. Truly magical!

4. 8. Eurythmics: Winter Wonderland
'Winter Wonderland' is a Christmas tune with an edge. All those synths are so 80s and so brilliant! This track sounds great in the day, but wouldn't be out of place at the office Christmas party either!

5. 7. East 17: Stay Another Day
The video for this song cracks me up every time! The contrast of the guys wearing those fluffy white suits at the beginning and then changing into those black, leather outfits - hilarious! 'Stay Another Day' was released in 1994 and was Christmas number one in the same year.

6. Paul McCartney: Wonderful Christmastime
Definitely one of the most cheerful Xmas tracks around! The music video itself reminds me of a Crimbo movie… and Sir Paul is so young in it! This 1979 classic is still a feel good festive fave and one of the most played tracks around this time of year.

7. 5. Wizzard: I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day
In at number five, this tune is absolutely bonkers - and I love it! I'm not sure I'd want it to be Christmas EVERY day, but with their festive sparkly red drum kits and tinsel-covered saxophones, this song has endured the test of time and definitely gets me in the Xmas spirit no matter what!
-
8. 4. Band Aid 30: Do They Know It's Christmas
It's definitely the most heart-breaking of all the Christmas tracks, and as aways features an all-star cast of celebrities imploring us to dig deep into our pockets and spread the love this year. Acts performing on the track include Olly Murs, Bono, One Direction and Ellie Goulding. You can buy the song at BandAid30.com

9. 3. Mariah Carey: All I Want For Christmas Is You
Definitely one of the cheekiest (and sexiest) Christmas song around! After all, what's better than Mariah messing around in a cute Santa outfit? With a music video featuring snowy scenes, giant bauble-bauble-covered pine trees and even real live reindeer; I can't help but think of the movie 'Love Actually' every time I hear this song.

10. 2. Slade: Merry Christmas Everybody
All together now: "So here it is, Merry Christmas, everybody's havin' fun!" Taking the penultimate place for my favourite ever Xmas track, it's Slade! I just love how the boys belt this one out at the tops of their lungs. Brilliant!

11. 1. The Pogues: Fairytale of New York
Taking home the gold medal is simply HAS to be The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl's classice collaboration. This top song is a Irish folk ballad with a twist! Shane MacGowan and Kirst MacColl lead on vocals in what has become one of the greatest Crimbo classics of all time. Turn up those speakers!
