Grand Plan For Clacton

10 February 2010, 00:00

A grand plan to improve Clacton will be discussed today.

Tendring Councillors are talking about how to make the town a place people want to visit all year round - things like better shops, and Angel of the North style statues have been suggested so far. Other issues on the agenda today are a centralised council building, and improved civic quarter.

Tendring District Council wants Clacton to come out of what it calls "a downward spiral" to prove it can attract people to the town 365 days a year.

It's hoped the local community will get involved and tell the Council what they think would improve the place where they live.

Heart's spoken to Councillor Peter Halliday, you can hear from him on our news this morning.
