Businessman John Dyer was in Polperro when he started taking snaps of the darkened cave
The graphic designer was visiting parents in the Cornish seaside village of Polperro, having holidayed there every year since he was born in 1981.
He heard many stories as a child about the pirate smuggler Willy Wilcox. Legend has it, the 18th Century smuggler was on the run when he ran into the caves to hide. It's thought a rising tide trapped him and he was never to be seen again...until now that is?
It was only when Mr Dyer returned home to Hampshire that he spotted the ghostly figure in the background of the cave. If you look closely you can just about make out two hands, a head and a distinctive eye patch!
