Arrest After Elderly Couple Robbed In Poole

Dorset Police have arrested a man after an elderly couple were attacked and robbed in Poole.
Detectives are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after the husband and wife were robbed and assaulted in the Creekmoor area of the town.
The man in his 80s and woman in her 70s were attacked at 11.30am on Wednesday 27 November 2013 on Stalbridge Road.
The local couple were making their way along the road – the woman was on foot and the man on a mobility scooter – when the offender approached them from behind. As the man passed he grabbed her handbag and pushed her husband to the ground before running into Hazelbury Road.
The female victim sustained an injury to her arm. The handbag contained bank cards and small amount of change.
A 38-year-old man of no fixed address has been arrested on suspicion of robbery.
Detective Constable Will Burnett, of Bournemouth and Poole CID, said:
“This is a despicable crime and I am keen to speak to anyone who may know something as soon as possible.
“It was broad daylight at the time and someone may have witnessed the incident or seen the offender running away.
“I urge witnesses or anyone with information to speak with the police in the strictest confidence.”
