Two Dorset men have been arrested after a van loaded with cannabis was found abandoned in the New Forest.

Plain clothes officers were on patrol when they found the white Iveco van abandoned and blocking Burley Road in Bransgore, with its bonnet in a hedgerow, on the afternoon of Thursday 6 June.

Assuming there had been a road traffic collision, the officers investigated and found the rear of the van contained black bin liners full of cannabis.

They then spotted two men jogging towards the abandoned van.

The officers spoke to the men and arrested both on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a Class B drug.

Both men, one aged 18 from Bournemouth and the other a 25-year-old from Christchurch, were bailed, pending further enquiries, until 12 July.
