Chinchilla Stolen From Dorset Pet Shop

Thieves have stolen a chinchilla from a Dorset pet shop.

Officers in Purbeck are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward.

The incident, in which an eight-week-old black chinchilla was taken from the Three Oaks Animal Kabin store at the Courtyard Centre in Huntick Road, Lytchett Minster, happened just after 5pm on Tuesday, 12 July 2011.

Police Constable Simon Wilcox, of Purbeck police, said:

"This type of chinchilla is reportedly worth between £75 and £100.

"I am appealing for anyone who has purchased a baby chinchilla of this description or anyone who has been offered such a pet to contact police as soon as possible."
